Road Stabilisers

Fibrous Reinforced Base (Road Stabilsation)

Fibrous Reinforced Base (FRB) is a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly, technological breakthrough in soil stabilisation, waste binding and pavement layer design. It is a unique and highly effective natural soil stabiliser for infrastructure development and repair.

FRB is a hydration activated powder-based stabiliser that reacts with the soil particles to create layers that are interconnected through a complex inter-particle framework. It increases the compressive and flexural strength of the pavement layer using in-situ soil only. It makes in-situ soil impermeable, reduces moisture sensitivity and stops the migration of moisture from the subgrade into the upper layers.

Advantages

Cost Effective

Reduces road construction time by achieving quicker results

Resistant to all weather conditions

Makes use of in situ materials

Environmentally friendly

No ongoing maintenance

Suitable for all vehicle loads

Styrene-Acrylic Polymer

Our environmentally-friendly product is a biodegradable liquid copolymer which is used for soil stabilisation and dust control. When diluted with water, it produces either a topical or mix-in stabilising liquid that will control between PM2.5 and PM10 particulate, ensuring a safe environment.

The product has proved extremely successful and economical internationally, including the African continent. Many large international companies such as Anglo American, Sasol, BHP Billiton and Exxaro use a product with similar qualities and characteristics.

Advantages

Easy-to-apply

Non-corrosive and safe for all equipment

Non-hazardous and non-toxic

Water resistant

Non-leaching

UV resistant

Non-slippery

Ecologically and environmentally safe

Dries flexible/elastomeric

Non-dissipating

Biodegradable

Non-tracking once cured

The product can be used as a dust suppressant, and a soil stabiliser that converts an ordinary dirt road into a rock solid wearing surface that rivals asphalt and concrete. When correctly installed, it can produce a natural soil pavement that has more than twice the supportive strength as asphalt. Under normal conditions of low frequency traffic and moderate weather, a 50 mm mix-in for the wearing course can provide a maintenance-free all-weather surface for approximately 5 to 10 years. Simply apply spray-on maintenance applications periodically to prevent deterioration.

Nano-Bond

The Nano-Bond Makes use of almost any in situ materials and creates a more flexible and durable pavement layer. Nano-Bond eliminates shrinkage cracks and delivers improved performance when using lower classified local material – previously unsuitable materials can be improved to acceptable levels and requires less application volumes than other methodologies
Nano-Bond is applied using conventional equipment; (In certain circumstances may be applied using labour-intensive practices) and application is easily modifiable for specific conditions. It improves CBR, UCS and ITS strength and adds to the material’s water resistance. Unlike cementitious stabilization agents, no curing time is required and is significantly less expensive than either cement or emulsion stabilisation.
